Uwe Jonas' unadorned works leave marble as natural as possible. Without imposing specific meanings on his works, he builds forms and arrangements from architectural elements such as beams, blocks, and cubes, observing the natural color changes of the stone as it changes with light and using them to create a sense of movement in time and space. Within these harmonious forms, Uwe's works reflect the passage of time as given by nature and encourage us to reflect on ourselves and the world.

Although Uwe's works do not evoke dramatic emotions or stirring feelings, they do reveal subtle shifts in emotion and the passage and passing of time. It is a work of concentration, effort and reflection that requires patience. The natural colored works give us the space for a contemplation that confronts us with something precious that we have long neglected.

Uwe's restrained colors and forms may remind us of the importance of time, meditation and contemplation. His gray marble works change in different shades with the movement of light, transcending specific habits, traditions, cultures and histories to evoke individual life images and memories, creating a progressive layering of time that connects past, present and future. In this way, his works offer us the opportunity to pay attention to our feelings, as in the moment of pausing before nature during a heavy snowstorm.
